MY SAGGAR FIRED WORK

WATCH VIDEO TO SEE HOW I MAKE MY SAGGAR FIRED VESSELS

I create saggar-fired vessels by applying terra sigillata slips made from refined Devon clays, polished to a soft sheen. The pots are then placed in a saggar—a protective container—along with foraged plants, seaweed, and other natural materials. During firing, smoke, flame, and organic matter interact with the clay, leaving delicate, one-of-a-kind markings that capture the landscape and the unpredictability of fire.
